Description
Advantages of AIS (Automatic Identification System)
An AIS transponder on your vessel automatically receives information transmitted by other AIS-equipped vessels and base stations, all while transmitting your vessel’s static and dynamic information.
Using an AIS transponder, you can find small boats and AIS-positioned buoys that are difficult to locate with radar.
The MA-510TR is a Class B AIS transceiver for collision avoidance management for non-SOLAS vessels such as pleasure boats, workboats and small vessels.
Color TFT LCD screen and Wide viewing angle
The TFT LCD color screen provides a viewing angle of almost 180 degrees.
The wide screen has high-resolution characters and function icons.
The night mode display ensures good readability in low light conditions.
Dangerous vessels are shown in red and vessels registered as your friends are shown in yellow.
AIS target list and details
The TARGET LIST screen displays all AIS detected vessels and targets.
The ‘Danger’ list screen displays a list of vessels within six nautical miles of the Closest Point of Approach (CPA) and sixty minutes to the Closest Point of Approach (TCPA) from your vessel.
The “Friends” list screen shows the detected AIS targets that you have set as friends.
When you want to see the details of the target, select the target with the keys and press the [ENT] key.
Simplified navigation mode
The navigation function guides you to a designated waypoint or AIS target.
When you hold down the [WPT/MOB] button, the MA-510TR automatically marks a waypoint of the vessel’s current position and activates the MOB (Man Overboard) navigation function at the location where the MOB event occurred
Navigation mode is started by simply selecting a waypoint or AIS target on the screen.
Navigate to the MOB point
When you hold down the [WPT/MOB] button, the MA-510TR automatically marks a waypoint of the vessel’s current position and activates the MOB (Man Overboard) navigation function at the location where the MOB event occurred
Individual DSC calls
You can transmit an individual DSC call by simply selecting an AIS target and voice channel on the MA-510TR*.
* Compatible Icom transceiver required.
USB connectivity
AIS data can be output from a USB cable socket on the back of the transceiver *.
* A third-party app and a connection cable are required.
GPS antenna provided
The GPS receiver with SBAS function is built into the MA-510TR. Position information can be obtained simply by connecting to the supplied GPS antenna with a 10 m, 32.8 ft cable.
NMEA 2000™, NMEA 0183/-HS Connectivity
With NMEA 2000™ plug-and-play functionality, the MA-510TR can be connected to a NMEA 2000™ network (external plotter, marine radar and VHF transceiver).
Using NMEA 0183/-HS connectivity, the transponder can be connected to a transceiver, plotter, marine radar, external GPS receiver or toggle button.
Collision alert function
When a vessel enters the CPA or TCPA area, the vessel icon flashes on the plotter screen and a beep sounds.
When an external speaker is installed on the chart table or on the bridge, the collision alarm function will alert you, even when you are far from the AIS transponder.
Silent Mode for security and privacy
Silent mode disables the AIS transmitter and allows you to temporarily stop transmitting your vessel’s position information.
This feature is useful when you don’t want to reveal your fishing spots to other boats.
You can receive AIS reports from other vessels as well while silent mode is on.
More
Compatible with 12V and 24V power sources
